About me

My name is Katie Jean Howe and I have currently just finished my third year at Southampton Solent University, studying Ba (hons) Fine Art degree, I passed with 1st class honours. I am writing in regards to any graduate job vacancies.My degree was very contemporary art focused, with many of the lecturers being working artists bringing skills from all creative areas. As a result of this, I feel confident with my creative skills and am looking to progress these within an executive role. My CV is attached to the email. I hope this gives you an indication of my abilities and range of skills. After I finished my degree a had an opportunity to do some work experience assisting Unilever Uk's internal graphic design department, managing the internal digital asserts library (housekeeping the files), I also assisted (idea generation, project development, client meetings) with internal design projects including; Surf Washing Powder Advert for Londis/Budgens, Pot Noodle instore shelf strips. I also redesigned the Unilever Careline Coupons. It was here that I realised that I really excelled at being part of a team, achieving a vision for a client.The fine art course was very much a growing process to find your own creative practise. My own practise was digitally based; I was constantly fascinated and involved with the ever-growing digital communication networking websites, using them as a source for gaining and distributing information, this was a primary process from which then I drew digitally and sculpturally creating a personal narrative for the viewer to observe and perhaps relate with. .
