My name is Kathryn Johansen, and I am a recent graduate from Cazenovia College. I am looking to expand my knowledge and experience of the design world at an international level, and I have recently learned thatCADA Design Group is seeking an Interior Designer to join their creative team. Please accept this letter and attached resume as my formal application for employment for the position.

In May, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Interior Design. Academically, several classes were taken that have prepared me for the professional world of interior design. Vast knowledge of programs such as AutoCad 2010 and 3DS Max have allowed me to complete numerous detail-oriented projects from hospitality and retail design, to residential and exhibition design. Being accepted into the study abroad program at Canterbury, England provided a broader knowledge and appreciation of historical architecture and different design styles throughout Europe.

While at Cazenovia, working on numerous detail-oriented projects at one time improved time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills. Group projects allowed creative ideas to be shared and built upon, while being cooperative and open-minded. A positive work ethic and a constant strive for creativity make work a positive and rewarding experience. I firmly believe that my enthusiastic attitude and determination will be nothing but beneficial to your company, and I am looking forward to hearing from you about possibly scheduling an interview.
