About me
A 360 degrees creative and multidisciplinary artist.
Born in Limassol, Cyprus. If anything else, i had one certainty from the time i was a kid. That art and fashion was what i loved. So i fought for my dream and went off to college to study Fashion Design in the UK and then in Italy where i also got another Diploma in Photography.
A naturally curious soul and an all around visual artist, after my studies i went on to gain valuable work experiences in both fields and in Mass Media. She worked for major magazines as a Fashion Editor and Stylist, and also in Theater as a Costume designer/ wardrobe responsible and Key set designer in minor projects.
From 2007 till 2012 i even launched her own Luxury Leather Accessories label under the name of Chrysalis by Kate, having trained for 6 months in Florence in the ways of leather artisans, which she loved very much.
In the meantime i kept and keep challenging my creative limits by taking part in various artistic contests and exhibitions in my native Cyprus and internationally. Some of my works even managed to get some recognition in the form of awards with the newest being the ''Judges Encouragement Award'' from the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Center and also two of my works now belong in the permanent collection of the China Printmaking Museum.
In the summer of 2016, after meeting with the talented Greek- Canadian author and poet Christina Strigas, i illustrated the covers and inside art for her poetry chap book ''Your Ink on my soul'' and her complete works ''In my own flood'', released in June and July respectively. Ever the restless artist and wanting to explore another love - that of costume design,i joined the production of a National channel tv series in Cyprus as a costume responsible /stylist and worked as an art department assistant for a Grad film at the NFTS in the UK.
My work, mainly mixed media illustrations done with markers, pencil, ink and water colours on paper, explore themes of feelings and personal struggles- usually the tension between inner emotions and their outer expression. Mythology and folk tales from around the world also provide inspiration to create some of my figurative, detailed, graphic like works.She believes that each project has brought her something to add both to her art and to my personal journey.
