About me
Fine Art Graduate from Birmingham City University's School of Art. London based artist, Kate Carter specialises in painting but also pursues other mediums such as print making, drawing, photography, installations and photo montage.
Having explored the topics of portraiture, protest, the fashion industry and models, Kate more recently focused her practice on identifying existence and what it is that contributes to making us believe in someone's presence, even in their absence.
Current work aims to illustrate the exclusion of women in the history of art and their absence in some texts even today. In doing so Kate quite literally removes the bodies of female figures from her work.
