About me

I am looking to find a job as a casting assistant.
I have expereince in Costume for Television, Film, Theatre and Opera but would like to move into a role as a Assistant to a Casting Director. I have worked with Actors, Dancers and Performers for years and have helped them prepare for auditions for years. I enjoy the process and think i would be very good at it.

During , I studied Fashion and Costume at the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. I found the whole experience challenging and fascinating, from which I developed a passion for costume and design. The skills and experience I gained while at University and while working were invaluable. Learning from tutors working in the industry made all the skills I learnt current.

In 2004, I worked as a dresser on two feature films “King Kong” and “River Queen” which were filmed in New Zealand. On “King Kong” I gained valuable experience in dressing over 400 cast members and due to this, I understand the importance time management and accuracy. I was also a casting assistant for extras on this film, which required discretion and attention to detail.

In 2005 i worked as a buyer, pattern maker and dresser on three Operas run by Canterbury Opera. two of these Operas ran consecutively which meant i had to work under pressure and keep to deadlines. Theatre and Opera are very different to Film and in both those roles, ilearnt the importance of patience and focus.

I give good support and guidance to people i work with and i am willing to help out where and where it is needed.

I would love the opportunity to interview for a assistant position because i have a real passion for the entertainment industry. I am cinstanly finding ways to further my career and learn for skills.
