About me

Throughout the last few years I have done a lot of different Graphic Design work. With each project and position, I have grown my skillset immensely. I have been working at Hancocks for the last two years creating promotional work for a variety of brands. In this fast paced environment, I have learnt how to work under pressure while remaining professional at all times. I have worked on multiple freelance projects, these are great as it means I have learnt to effectively manage my own time and correctly interpret a brief.

I made the decision to push myself completely out of my comfort zone and move to New York for a year. Before leaving for the states I worked at an interiorscaping company called Inscape. At Inscape I was in charge of layout design, photoshopping for presentations and did some web development using Wordpress. I create clean, fresh, simple and logical layouts for ease of use and use my exceptional eye for detail to photoshop as accurately as possible. I often worked from home showing I have good time management and am trusted to manage myself. While in New York I was asked to work remotely and take over the Social Media for Inscape. This means regularly uploading relevant and interesting photos for Instagram and Facebook.

Throughout my three years of graphic design study, I used the Adobe Creative Suite to complete briefs. I was fortunate to gain an internship with MediaWorks in the Integration and Creative departments. While working there, I was designing information booklets for a promotional giveaway. In order to complete these booklets I had to use a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop, then pull it all together onto InDesign. Throughout my study I have had extensive tutorials and experience using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

While working at MediaWorks there was a quick turnover of projects requiring me to work to tight deadlines and to quickly understand new briefs. I was able to communicate effectively and use my time wisely. Through my work experience I stayed composed under pressure and completed tasks to a high standard.

As a student at AUT I took the opportunity to embark on studying for a semester abroad in Salzburg, Austria. Through this immersion I gained valuable experience in adapting to another culture, including learning another language. During this semester abroad, I became very independent and had ample opportunities to problem solve, which I did in a composed manner.
