About me

In 2007, I completed my Masters Degree in Image and Communication at Goldsmiths College, University of London, which enabled me to develop my creative skills and ideas within photography, media practice and cultural theory, whilst also giving me the chance to research the boundaries within communication and media. I have also experience of web based communication techniques and understand the importance of communication.

Whilst studying for my MA, I gained further experience through working within high profile organisations in the media industry, and have taken part in the organisation of many group exhibitions, which involved liaising with external sponsors, promotion of art events and communication between team members.

I am fully computer literate and able to review and edit documents and marketing material. My experience has included updating archive and data base systems, as well as producing relevant material. I have also had the opportunity to liaise with external organisations, manage projects and work to tight deadlines. I have experience of working within a team and also on my own initiative.

My degree courses at University of East London and Goldsmiths College, University of London, will enable me to relate to the needs of students and understand the importance of accurate, timely and relevant communications.

The experience I have gained (as shown in my CV)

- I have worked within a media relations environment

- I have helped create and prepare publicity material

- Experience of campaign management and co-ordination

- Marketing and co-ordinating events

- Graphic Design experience

- A broad understanding of the various aspects and uses of photography, in print and analogue, including archiving

- Ability to maintain and co-ordinate web site and web based campaigns

Organising group exhibitions was exciting and challenging, interacting with fellow students and discussing ideas and objections became something I enjoyed doing within my course.

In addition to these and the development of my creative skills, I have learnt the importance of media within the communications industry. Whilst studying, I had experience in media/communications organisations, where working accurately to tight deadlines and using my creative ability, was an important part of the job. I also learnt the importance of working within a team environment. Working for Big Pictures gave me an insight into the running of a successful media image based company where the communication and reputation of the company was extremely important. Through researching images for national papers and magazines, I was given a huge responsibility within my work experience.
