Kate Ann Joy is a London-based photographer, creative director, and founder of Backstairs Studio, a purpose-built editorial and commercial photography space in North London.
Her work sits between fashion, portraiture, and conceptual image-making, combining precise lighting with a strong sense of narrative and visual identity. She is known for creating images that feel both intentional and atmospheric, with a focus on tone, restraint, and detail.
Alongside her personal and artistic practice, Kate works with brands, artists, and agencies to produce clean, elevated visual assets for campaigns, editorial, and digital platforms.
