About me
My designer biography.
I entered Step Computer Academy where I learned the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Simultaneously, I began to apply the skills that I acquired during the course in the daily work as a freelancer. At that time, I was creating designs and developing corporate styles. I knew that I hadn't had enough knowledge to go forward as a designer and I decided to find an internship to improve my skills and figure out the best design sphere for me.
Despite the fact that I didn't choose to pursue a career in sociology I learned a lot of skills and ideas that now help me in my art experience too. My BA faculty taught me critical thinking, data analysis and how to identify the features of modern society. Being a visual artist means working with masses and knowing the patterns and peculiarities of mass perception which help me develop better visual images convey required messages through them.
I know, that your company concentrates mostly on helping companies succeed with an effective strategy. My experience in sociology will help me to understand client's expectations and make the design really effective.
The second significant part of my professional development was the traineeship in one of the biggest Ukrainian media group called 1 +1. Working for the audience of the second-most watched TV channel in Ukraine I participated in the creation of lots of banners, learned animation and was involved in redesigning of the corporate website. I learned in practice about modular composition, studied the Vitruvian composition, found out how to achieve the perfect eurythmy in the composition, how to combine things that cannot be combined and immersed myself in mass media. Furthermore, it was my first job in a big holding where I managed to find common ground with the staff who were much more mature and experienced than me. After the internship, I got the job in this company as a junior web-designer and worked for this company for nine months in total.
I became a web-designer illustrator in the marketing agency. I was creating a lot of illustrations, stickers, icons and web projects at the same time. My last project was the illustrations for the website about creating subtitles and it was such a big pleasure for me to try a new minimalistic style.
During the MA course in the University of Brighton, I made a project about childhood memories of food in Ukraine during late 1990s - 2000s. This project describes how this food gave us happiness, made us laugh, enabled us to assert our individual tastes and ultimately brought each of us to a particular place and time where those memories have shaped the stories of our lives. I also participated in two volunteer projects. First one was Ukraїner.
For the past few decades Ukrainians have actively emigrated or moved for good to big cities, leaving behind their small towns and villages without learning anything substantial about them. The stories and history of small areas didn't make it into mass media and very often remained only in family archives, eventually fading from memory. This is what prompted Ukraїner to tell the stories from all the corners of the country to Ukrainians themselves. I helped this project to create visuals, icons, illustrations.
Second project is Ancient History Encyclopedia. The mission is to engage people with cultural heritage and to improve history education worldwide. I helped them with maps, illustrations and layouts for guidelines.
I have a big desire to work because I am a multifunctional person and I will absolutely responsible for researching, designing, innovating, and delivering design solutions for a variety of products because it is the best way to improve my skills and help your company develop faster.
