About me
Being a multimedia journalist, I have learned the compelling disciplines in the various fields.
As a sports editor, I helped lead a team that saw the largest online outreach for a single semester. My leadership has, and always will be, one by example. I believe that it not only brings out the best in my colleagues, but for me as well. I would not have been able to accomplish the goals I set forth without the proper guidance and a supportive team. One of those goals was bridging the connection between university athletics and student media, and in the end, we both benefited greatly.
I am also an insightful writer who seeks to bring a voice to those who I believe can inspire others, and myself. Throughout the years, I have spoken to and followed the moving journey of homeless students struggling to make it through the week, the euphoria of teammates surrounding walk-on athletes after receiving scholarships and a young man's dream to educate/guide children in athletics effected with diabetes. As each story is written, I discover not only about these people and their stories, but more about myself as well. It's a humanizing sensation that I want to keep digging at.
As a broadcaster/radio host, I have begun to discover my voice and what I want to share with others. My radio show has penetrated my deepest thoughts and put them on full display for whoever listens. I try to achieve an intuitive thought for the audience, while sprinkling in humor that may or may not stick with others. I like to believe my comedy lands flawlessly without any error, but I should know better by now.
Out of all of these different mediums, there is one constant, however. Over the past four years, my passion is deeply embedded in the root of learning. Figuring out new techniques, angles and past wisdom from my much more accomplished mentors. It is what I look forward to every single day in my field of work, and I hope to pursue it for as long as this world lets me.
