About me

As well as digital and print graphic design I also have knowledge and experience of industrial designing. I have experience of Mac and PC and am able to address basic technical issues on both platforms. I have a good working knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign and Acrobat, as well as experience of Quark Xpress.

I have included a copy my CV, which contains some sample projects I have worked on. I can also provide examples of my work contained in my portfolio and on my website to support this (*).

In a previous position as a Graphic Designer for Avid Technology I worked in the marketing department, which provided audio equipment to the film and music industry. I worked closely with and supported the Marketing Manager by supplying the digital and print artwork required for brochures, magazine adverts and web-based advertising.

In my present position I create content for passive & interactive digital signage, as well as 3D illustration (using Sketchup) for digital POS display unit for use in show rooms and/or exhibitions stands to support the sales director in getting his ideas across visually to the clients.

I am used to working to deadlines and liaising with internal and external clients, printers and magazine contacts to achieve the best results. I take personal pride in the fact that in the 8 years with my former employer we never missed a deadline. I also took an active role in promoting our products at various exhibitions and trade shows for which I also designed the promotional material such as banners, product labels and flyers.

I am used to and enjoy the vibe of working in a busy office environment. Although I am quite used to working alone under my own initiative, I draw energy and strength from the interaction of others within a team. I am more than capable of supporting other when required and appreciate the support of being part of a strong team.

I believe it is important to build good working relations with colleagues and external clients and to keep a good line of communication to help deal with and detect any potential problems before they arise. I am naturally good natured and a great motivator.

I am more than capable of planning, organising and prioritising my work load without supervision. I am able to deal with shifting and tight deadlines smoothly, which are important aptitudes I required as the as the sole designer in my previous employment. I am flexible and adaptable and a fast learning and enjoy working in a fast pace challenging environment.
