About me

I'm a Chicago creative director, designer and illustrator creating bold, colorful—and often typographic—artwork for brands, nonprofits, publications, marketing, experiences and murals.

Born and raised in the Midwest, I'm the daughter of an immigrant. After working at several design firms, I decided to start my own practice in 1998. Along the way, I've been inspired by traveling—to all 50 . states, Mexico, Netherlands, France, Wales, England, Italy, Costa Rica, and Iceland. There's so much art, lettering, and design to discover everywhere I go! My work is influenced by my love for mid-century modern design, vintage wood type, and pop art.

My work is recognized and published in over 40 design books and magazines, including Communication Arts, Uppercase Magazine, HOW Magazine, Graphic Design USA, and Type Directors Club's The World's Best Typography Annual. It's also included in the collections of Newberry Library and Chicago Design Archive.

Creating public art is a part of my practice. Projects include a mural in Costa Rica and at Harold Washington College and representing Illinois in a collaborative 19th Amendment flag design, displayed at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, . and at the William J. Clinton Library and Museum in Arkansas.

I have a BFA from Ball State University and a certificate in Software Development at City Colleges of Chicago; served as Vice President of Marketing for a regional arts non-profit for 20+ years; and served as Professional Programs Director for Society of Typographic Arts.
