About me

Juan Iglesias was born in Ourense, 26 years ago, and always had a passion for computers. This passion led to a decision to study computer science after high school. After studying computer graphics in the last year, he discovered his main field of interest, web design & 3D animation.

Studying a Masters in digital communication enabled mastering many tools and facilitated experience of working on design projects (short films, web design.) The master gave him the opportunity to work in an animation studio [Dygrafilms].

He had always wanted to go abroad and he got this opportunity with the Leonardo program, allowing him to work in a large company, IBM.

Portugal was a great experience there was a need to learn English, therefore he packed the luggage and moved to Cork in order to do this. Now that this goal has been reached the next step is to go back to the design side.

Skills

FXPHD.com: I just finished three courses on lighting and composition with Maya and 3D studio. FXPHD offers online courses with the best professional of the sector. , 3D Generalist: My master in Digital Comunication and Design let me get a wide knowledge on creation of Computer Grafics, from the draft in 2D to the final render in 3D. , Computer Science: I have studied computer science at College, eventhough I did not like programming that much, it was really helpfull to work on 3D later on, as a base of knowledge in this area make definetely easier work with software as Maya, 3DStudio, etc.

September 2011 - December 2012: Seller Support Assistant, Webstore specialist. Amazon.co.uk: Responsible for providing timely and accurate operational support to Merchants selling on the Amazon platform, through Webstore. CSS, HTML, JS., January 2011 - April 2011 : SoftInsa Marketing and Services department., Web designer with Joomla. (Scholarship Leonardo in Lisbon.). Creation of promotional videos about diferents products., May 2010 - November 2010: Dygrafilms. Technical Fx. film: 'Holy night!'. Cloth simulation, rigid bodies and hair systems. Creation effects for different shots of the movie. Team working with the other members, of the FX team., January 2010 - May 2010: Dygra Films. Technical layout in film: “Holy night!”. Creation cameras, animation of them. Place characters and sets to compose the shots in the film. Setting animation timing.
