About me

I am a creative and forward-thinking UX / UI Designer, and through my company, Jacques Pretorius Design Limited, I have helped a range of clients achieve their business ambitions. As an experienced UX / UI and Graphic Designer, I offer a successful track record in creating visually engaging and meaningful experiences for clients, by clearly listening to, and understanding, translating and communicating requirements. This allows me to ensure all designs are user-centric, streamlined and high quality. In addition, I am experienced in creating interactive prototypes across a range of platforms including mobile, tablet and desktop, whilst combining big picture focus and strategic planning with an efficient hands-on approach. Over the course of my career, I have delivered projects across a variety of fields including AAA games, illustration and art direction, marketing, product and interior design, FinTech, tech startups and non-profit organisations.

Notable successes include:

✔️ Designing and launching an innovative IoT platform through a successful Kickstarter campaign, on behalf of a Californian startup, Quantum Integration Inc.
✔️ Leading end-to-end design of SaaS solutions using Arria's uniquely innovative AI technologies to automate Natural Language Generation (NLG) text that enabled effective creation of actionable reports by SMEs and Analysts.
✔️ Driving branding, UX and website design, to promote the Barnick Foundation, a non-profit providing educational assistance to disadvantaged children in rural East Thailand, with the aim of creating a smooth user experience.
