About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to say firstly that I have seen you consider designers, please note that my main strengths lay in illustration so please regard myself as an artworker, thank you.

I feel I am best suited to your available position for many reasons. Firstly, I feel that I would fit into this role well as your specification indicates that you would preferably like a candidate who is art creative with a keen sense of detail. This is exactly what I am, even though I have graduated from a Graphic Design degree, I feel my main strengths lay within illustration and the more detailed side of design. I chose a design degree because it would be better for my career as it is much broader than illustration and I have developed a lot more skills on that degree than I would have on an illustration degree. I have loved art and drawing ever since I was very young, so I have therefore been developing my skills since a young age and been working on the detail many do not.

Next, I would like to point out that I am very efficient and flexible as I now live in London, I can commute to almost anywhere but I can also work anytime. I have just finished university and currently looking to start my career so I am very flexible with time. I am a very fast learner, therefore I can learn any new hands-on techniques you may require an employee to know.

I have included my online portfolio at the bottom of this cover letter as there is only an option to upload a portfolio on this website. My online portfolio includes some of the design work I have done recently but also a varied amount of different work I have created over the past few years, which shows my ability to do a variety of work. If you are interested in seeing the detailed side of my illustration work, I would like to direct you to the second half of the portfolio as you will see some typography I have created, along with different types of artwork produced in order to catch the public's eye to raise awareness for endangered species, as well as the fine details used in portraiture and illustration.

Finally, I would like to point out that recently I have gained some experience working in the design industry with companies such as GP Management and The Official Oktoberfest London, whereby I worked with very high caliber clients such as the Formula 1 industry. I created pieces of work on large and small scales for print.. This work is something I learned how to do at university but also learned as I progressed with these companies, but your company appeals a lot more to me than these companies do, due to the fact your company seems very detail and art based, where my creativity and ideas can come through into the work a lot more.
