Joshua McBride — Freelance Script Reader and Story Analyst

I'm a London-based script reader and editorial consultant with a background spanning feature film, television, and prose manuscripts. I've previously read and evaluated feature and TV scripts, producing clear and structured coverage assessing story, character, pacing, and commercial potential for both writers and producers. My earlier editorial experience includes manuscript coverage for a UK publisher, where I also managed submissions for a national literary prize.

Alongside script reading, I have worked as a narrative designer and writer across games (MA Game Design, Goldsmiths, Distinction), with five years' experience crafting dialogue, story structure, and character work for shipped commercial titles. All of this means coverage from me comes from someone who builds story structure for a living, not just someone who reads it; I can tell you not only what isn't working in a script, but why, in terms a writer or producer can actually act on.
