About me
My knowledge of the production process is varied across the board, with particular interest and attention towards producing commercials. Obtaining a masters in film and TV 'Producing for film and TV' has given me the foundation to develop my skills and assimilate a production from brief to deliverance of a professional final product. This includes anything from photographic, audio and video production. Experience of using Final Cut Pro to speed up the process has allowed me to create rushes for the director and editor to work with. My skills with FCP (Final Cut Pro) continue to develop to this day and prove to be an invaluable tool that allows consistent workflow and deadlines to be met. An area to develop upon would be the use of Avid as I currently only use FCP, this would allow for greater flexibility in the work place.
Last year I was given the opportunity to produce a viral commercial for Victim Support, as a result I had to direct the voice over artist that we used, this was a process that felt natural and resulted in obtaining the desired result from the actor. The commercial can be viewed by clicking on this link: *, and as a result this proved to be a massive learning curve as to what can be made with great limitations and the areas that could have been improved upon with less time constraints and a reasonable budget.
Another challenge during my life was voluntary work for VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas) in Mozambique where I worked as a radio presenter, researching and translating educational and entertaining information for local villagers to Portuguese. We provided detailed information on key problems such as sanitation, malaria treatment and prevention. A key problem in the village of Manica was childbirth, this proved to be well received. Overcoming the language difference proved to be a challenging but rewarding process. The main problem was local villagers or aid workers cancelling as guests on the show with little or no time to spare. This was overcome with forward planning and the ability to reschedule at the last minute; the radio station soon became a platform to exercise our use and co-ordination with the village to our best ability.
Risk assessments along with health and safety awareness of procedures have been developed over the years. At Bournemouth University Parashoot is used as an online risk assessment process in co-ordination with insurance and other liabilities. I am First Aid Qualified by St Johns Ambulance to provide medical care on and off set in case of emergency; a medical pack is carried with me on location filming.
With my knowledge and expertise I am more than capable of meeting and exceeding your needs to create engaging stories on multiple channels that champion Papworth Trust's goals of giving and creating long lasting 'Equality, Choice and Independence' for those in need.
