About me

I have a BA in Media and Information, majoring in Journalism, which I obtained at Curtin University in Western Australia. I believe the work I have already undertaken as well as my training in print, TV and radio will help me adapt quickly to any role.

My work with Noongar Dandjoo has probably been the most rewarding so far. During my work with the program I got to work closely with members of the local Noongar community which gave me a much broader insight into Western Australia's indigenous culture. The program helped to highlight many issues relevant to indigenous Australians and present them to the wider community. Working on this award winning program helped me gain a better understanding of how to work with people within the community and uncover issues not normally presented in the mainstream media.

I also gained valuable experience at Golden West News. GWN is Western Australia's number one regional broadcaster so being a part of their news team helped me gain an understanding of working in country areas as well as working to tight deadlines. My role as a journalist for GWN required me to monitor various news sources as well as liaise with local police, government bodies, sporting clubs and community groups to produce stories of a professional standard for the prime time bulletin.

I also honed my interview skills at Curtin FM, one of Perth's largest community broadcasters, where I was required to produce stories for the stations hourly bulletins.
