About me

Artistry isn't a conventional career path that can be followed for success. The safe option has always been following a corporate career ladder and serve the capitalist system. Making art has had to largely be reserved for those few precious hours you have outside of your 9-5.

I'm in the music industry with a mission to make artistry an accessible career decision. My guiding principle is not letting art become the substitute to the work that surrounds it.

I started as a music producer. I followed the recommended path of education until having a degree. I came out of uni with a lot of debt, a few friends and a brutal wake-up call that the value of recorded music was diseased.

I decided the only way to thrive in the system was to learn all of the rules to break them.

I started a record label, but I set out on my mission to learn how to find customers, generate revenue and re-invest into business to create growth.

I pursued a career path in marketing, sales and business development and got really good at generating new business and consulting businesses on improving their critical operations. After 7 years of that, I decided to take the jump and run my record label full time.

During this period, I continued learning everything I could about marketing, growth, product development and consumer behaviour. I grew a team of 7 freelancers under the brand until eventually growing ambition that exceeded the record label model and running out of funds.

With a passion for startups, growth and SaaS products, I returned to employment in a music tech company where I have been since, back in Business Development for Music Gateway's enterprise product 'Private Networks'.

I'm obsessed with Music Tech. I believe this holds the key to making music an accessible career choice.

My speciality is music tech enterprise SaaS products. Although I dedicate myself to this, I still just about have a good work-life balance to find some time to make music!
