About me

Experienced musician, composer and visual artist with a demonstrated history of working in the music industry. Skilled at viola, guitar, mandolin, improvisation, soundtracks, composition, studio recording, mixing and Music Education.
As a musician and performer, I was taught by renowned folk fiddler, Dave Shepherd of Blowzabella. I have played in numerous bands (currently member of cinematic folk group, Fishclaw) and worked with the Jazmine Ava Band and Damo Suzuki (of 1970s prog-rock band, Can, fame) and most recently performed with Ed Sheeran at his Old Phone gig at the Wolsey in Ipswich, May 2025.

My sound workshops sparked what is now a key element of the YAK (Young Art Kommunity) programme at Firstsite Gallery and he has been commissioned to write & record numerous compositions for clients including the Royal Academy, Penguin Books, 2Faced Dance Company, Rosemary Butcher - the latter having featured exhibitions in London and Berlin. I also facilitated workshops for young people (Arts Awards) at Firstsite and Colchester Arts Centre

I have also worked alongside award winning composer and producer Jim Sutherland, musician and producer Ian Stephenson, Emmy award winning film maker Jason Arber, nature writer James Canton and creative consultant Ruth Bates Lee and others on an Arts Council funded project (Ash). This explored the impact of music and nature on well being and aimed to raise awareness of issues around climate change and mental health among others. I composed the music for this, wrote the evaluation and helped deliver focus groups and surveys for a range of demographics.

My music has always informed my artistic practice to an extent; with influence coming from interest in expressionism, surrealism, street art, science fiction, fantasy, folklore and mythology.
Through my current artwork I incorporates the use of pen and watercolour drawings which are then edited digitally in response to direction from the original artwork's shapes and colours.
I have recently exhibited his work at The Old Grocery, Wivenhoe, the Open Gallery, Halifax and Newcastle Arts Centre and commissioned in 2025 by Achathras to create the artwork for their album, 'A Darkness of the Ancient Past'.
