ABOUT
Buggy Burn is an arcade racer built for modern hardware, drawing on the heritage of OutRun, Buggy Boy and the Burnout series.
It comes from a feeling that something has been lost. Arcade racers used to be immediate, readable and full of energy. Blue skies, speed and adrenaline fuelled gameplay. Simple on the surface, easy to play and hard to master.
The project builds on sketches I made over 20 years ago, now brought to life using modern tools.
It is not about nostalgia. It is about reconnecting with what made these games work and exploring how those qualities fit today.
The focus is on speed, flow and clarity. Fast, responsive controls, 60 FPS or higher, and a world grounded in reality but pushed to feel iconic and memorable.
Tracks are linear and looping. Easy to learn, hard to master. This is about fun, not simulation.
The visuals were developed through a combination of AI and traditional skills, starting with rough sketches, using AI to build out the forms and detail, and then bringing the imagery into motion through animatics to establish the tone and direction.
The project is still at an early stage, but it demonstrates how quickly ideas can be brought to life when traditional skills and AI are combined with the right creative direction.
