About me
Dear Sir, Madame
This role sounds like a fantastic opportunity. And really on my wave length of how people should work.
I'd descripbe myself as a Lead interactive art director/designer. I'm a digital all rounder... with a background in both design and development. I'm a digital thinker... who knows how to be creative with digital, and in turn designs and shapes solutions that get people engaging with a campaign or product.
I was headhunted by one of the CDs at Dare 6 years ago, that brought me to London from my home in Yorkshire. I stayed at Dare for 3 years, and then moved to Pirata - a digital production studio set up by ex-Dare ACDs. I worked there from it being a team of 9, and was fundamental to their success and growth to a team of 25.
This September I then decided to fly the nest. Initially freelancing with the view to go permanent again when the right job comes up. And with out sounding cheesy, this role sounds great.
To date I've worked on a fair few big projects, with some big name clients. And through Pirata I've also collaborated with creatives at some well respected agencies including Adam & Eve, BBH, Fallon, Ogilvy, and Work Club.
As well as rich media banners and sites for the likes of Barclays, ITV, Coca-Cola and Sony, my portfolio includes augmented reality cars painting your desktop for BMW, pumping up space hoppers via twitter connected banners for Sony Ericsson, letting people do karaoke with a farmer boy band for Yeo Valley, Audi UK's first Wired iPad ad, the worlds biggest interactive social media bar of Toblerone, teasing Harry potter fans with magic quills and owls for J.K Rowling, and interpreting the data of a 36,000 people Mindshare marketing study into a dynamic interactive visualisation.
In my spare time I also experiment with motion graphics and interactivity in various forms.
A few of those projects received some awards like a One Show Gold Pencil. A Webby, amongst others.
I've very happy leading, and supervising teams, and liaising with clients. As well as writing proposals and creating treatments, and user journeys... Proposing and shaping projects i guess. But I'm very hand ons - I'm passionate about motion graphics, design, technology and UX. And I appear to be good at leading a project creatively, I'm passionate about things not only looking good, but being good to interact with in an engaging way... and I have a good knack of bridging the gap between creative and technology - getting all the disciplines working well together. I'm also well received by clients... Happy presenting, comfortable pitching. And I'm hungry to succeed at making great projects.
Here's a few examples of "behind the scenes" stuff I get involved in to make projects work... */
I really hope you see potential in me and feel my skills could compliment what you are doing at Ogilvy.
Thanks for your time
Jonny
