In response to the advertised position on productionbase.co.uk, please consider my application in your search for an Online Editor.
I have just graduated from the 1-year Filmmaking program at Central Film School in London. The course was very practical and fast-paced, and we worked on both Digital and Film.
I have an interest in each level of Production, but Post-Production has been the one that has fascinated me and that I have enjoyed the most. I use Final Cut Pro, but also have experience using Adobe Premiere, and have recently purchased Avid Media Composer, which I am training myself on in my spare time. Although I see that this role will be an extremely busy one, I still plan to continue making my own small shorts in what spare time I do have if possible.
As I am near the start of my career, I want a broad learning base, and am excited by the prospect of working with you. Having just come from a Film School which encourages learning in each different department, and juggling various roles on different productions at once, I would fit comfortably into a role that needs to work with different teams and bring their shared visions together. I am also naturally a very organised and ordered person. Yes, my DVD collection is in alphabetical order!
I recently had my first media job outside of Film School, working for one month creating web videos for a company. It's very different wanting to work and actually doing the work. It was a steep learning curve for me, but it's clear how important it is to be focussed on your goal, and working quickly while keeping quality high.
I hope that I can get the opportunity to discuss the role further at an interview.
