About me
While working in a busy advertising department, my graphic design skills were utilised on a daily basis in the creation/amendment of advertising and editorial collateral. As the newly founded team began to expand, the necessity for graphic design also expanded. I quickly found myself designing all type of flyers, leaflets, brochures and business pitches for the company to deploy across a variety of channels. I balance multiple projects every day with varying deadlines and budgets along with providing expert knowledge and support to the wider business including digital marketing (advertising/emails) and press production.
My skill set rapidly grew leading me to become an expert user of Adobe's Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Muse along with a total mastery of Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Word. In the past few years, I've developed microsites with Adobe Muse and WordPress, along with branded templates in Powerpoint to create bespoke business pitches for all departments in the Club extending to Directors, department heads and the Director General himself.
My true love for Powerpoint developed upon being asked to undertake the mammoth task of creating the Marketing department's end of year presentation - the biggest and most important meeting of the year with an audience of over a hundred staff including the board of directors, managers and other key stakeholders. The presentation itself was a simple, clean design with big and bold imagery as directed in the brief. The challenge presented itself in co-ordinating with the 40 odd different speakers during the presentation ranging from marketing executives up to directorate level staff.
The entire project was completed in just under two weeks with time to spare before the big event.
With the day of the presentation going extremely well, I felt a true sense of elation and pride upon watching the final product being shown to an audience who beamed smiles throughout the hour-long session. I realised how much joy I take from creating a beautiful presentation; the sheer pride of taking a product that many have access to and can use; but taking it to a new level of design incorporating advanced techniques such as having navigable, fly-out menus and interactive websites in-show.
I'm currently looking to take my career further by focusing more on powerpoint design. I feel that I can bring creative and innovative solutions for various business needs while providing great support to a wider business in several technical areas.
