About me

Jonathan (Jay) Brodie is a Creative Director at Design Bridge and Partners, based in Singapore.

As a design student, Jonathan (Jay) Brodie discovered the classic book on witty thinking A Smile in the Mind and knew immediately that The Partners in London was where he wanted to build his career. In 2013, he joined them. In a fitting full circle, he went on to co-revise its second edition (Phaidon, 2016), a Amazon bestseller that remains one of the most influential books on design and branding worldwide.

He has remained within the same creative lineage ever since, through its evolution into Superunion and then Design Bridge and Partners, building and evolving brands for Canon, O2, Shakespeare's Globe, Cancer Research UK, Shelter, BBC, HSBC, Colgate Palmolive, Ryt Bank, Axa, Britbox, Zespri and many more across the UK, Europe and South East Asia.
His work is rooted in the belief that distinctive ideas deserve equally distinctive systems — that a great brand concept means nothing without equally bold execution. As a leader, he's equally focused on creating the conditions where designers feel genuinely empowered to do something different.

His work has earned 130+ international awards including D&AD Pencils, Cannes Lions, Brand Impact Best in Show, Transform Best in Identity, NYF Golds, and wins from the Type Directors Club, Creativepool, Fast Company and Drum.

In 2022, ADC ranked him Design Director in Europe for the studio's work with Shelter.

The following year, Jay relocated to Singapore to lead Design Bridge and Partners' brand identity work across South East Asia, working directly with founders, CMOs and CEOs to translate business strategy into brand, and directing talented, multi-disciplinary teams in one of the world's most dynamic and fast-moving creative markets.

In 2025, the studio unveiled the rebrand of Forest Carbon, a nature-driven identity rooted in bioacoustics and environmental data. The project won 20+ creative awards including DBP Singapore's first ever Cannes Lion, Singapore's first Lion for a rebrand, a Creative Review Grand Prix and Fast Company's Best Design Asia-Pacific Award.

Outside client work, Jay is committed to developing the next generation of creative talent, having supported D&AD across festivals, portfolio surgeries, Shift initiatives and the Graduate Academy.

And outside the studio, he's still very much a creative at heart. As an amateur musician, he's fascinated by the creative process in all its forms, and loves bringing those learnings back into his design work.
