About me

I am a mature, hard working, honest and responsible adult.

I have a background of six years work experience in a large Arts & Crafts design centre in the County of Cheshire. The main shop sold ranges of furniture, lamps, vases and decorative items for the home. Under my guidance, we were able to set up within the shop a Design centre where clients would be advised on colours, furniture and the layout of rooms in their home. I really enjoyed this part of the job. Some of my tasks included visiting clients homes to take measurements, presenting schemes and ideas to clients, suggesting furniture, fabric and lighting to the client, visiting suppliers and buying of stock for the shop, visual merchandising,the general day-to-day running of the shop and face-to-face customer service.

It was the interior design side of my job that I felt most passionate about so after a lot of thought I decided that being an Interior Designer was solely what I wanted to do. Having six years experience but no actual qualification I wanted to broaden my knowledge and learn more about spatial design and recognise the roles that colour, texture and light play in the creation of an interior.

I decided to look at what courses there were and found a Professional Diploma in Architectural & Interior Design at Cavendish College which I have recently completed. Whilst on this course I have completed a number of design projects using the skills I have gained. The course has definitely given me a strong and well-rounded foundation which will help me in my future career path.

I look to follow a creative and exciting career in interior design because it gives me an opportunity to express myself, as well as that of my clients. The chance to shape the life style of my future clients would be a privilege and I would be humble if given such an amazing opportunity. Interior design is such a unique subject and profession where you can express yourself and be very hands on and I love it for that.
