About me

A force of nature, John Smith Gumbula is a descendant of the Wakka Wakka Indigenous people from the South Burnett Region of Queensland, Australia. For 25 years he has been passionately involved in the activities of his people, promoting art & culture in Australia and on the world stage. He studied part-time at the indigenous studies unit at the Queensland Museum whilst engaged as a cultural murri curator at the Regional Galleries Association of Queensland. In 1997 he was awarded the prestigious Silver Jubilee Queens Trust award for young achieving Australians by HE former Governor General William Deane and Lady Deane in Sydney, Australia. This later opened up diverse business opportunities, diplomatic connections and cultural doors to all four corners of the globe. From USA/ Canada, Switzerland, Middle East to South East Asia, he has shared his art and culture. He is well known and respected by many world Indigenous leaders and entrepreneurs in different fields, and recognized respectfully as an Indigenous cultural Ambassador by them and his people for promoting and building cultural bridges of understanding among-st the world communities. John's passion is to share his wisdom and extensive network strategically with the world and has recently been appointed by Cluster to unite the 5000 + indigenous first nations tribes of the world.
