About me

I wish to apply for the position of Artworker/Designer at Baines Design.

I am a highly ambitious, hard-working and award-winning designer, with extensive magazine and national newspaper experience.

Currently I am working as a freelance designer/consultant, specialising in editorial design. This work varies from working on magazines and newspapers to brand identity and marketing.

Recently I completed a short-term contract as a Senior Designer at Dyflin Media, one of Ireland's largest magazine publishers. In this role I worked across the entire portfolio of titles, which includes House and Home, a best-selling interiors magazine, Confetti, an award-winning bridal publication and Parchment, a specialist legal magazine. Adapting my style to suit the individual design philosophy of each title was essential, along with effective time-management in order to meet each editor's deadline.

For the previous five years, I was Art Editor on the News of the World's Irish edition, where I honed my skills to cover an array of different disciplines, from compiling eye-catching, consumer-conscious front pages to designing original and creative pull-outs and high-impact promotions.
