Dear Sir or Madam
I would like to be considered for the position of Repro Artworker.
Having worked for many years in colour reproduction, I have extensive skills, knowledge
and experience of Print and Repro. My skills and knowledge are inclusive of Photoshop,
Illustrator, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Imposition, Acrobat and the Mac Operating system,
with the ability to produce print-ready artwork.
My experience spans a 5 year apprenticeship in graphic reproduction after leaving school,
to present day with qualifications gained in both digital and pre-digital pre-press.
I was employed by Tag Europe, based at the Daily Express as a night Mac Operator working on
their magazine and newspaper titles, a position I held for over 7 years at their site in London EC3.
However, after cost-cutting and restructuring after a takeover of the business, the night shift on
which I worked was dispensed with, resulting in my redundancy, I am therefore seeking a
new position.
My role there involved a considerable amount of file checking, correcting files for colour,
low-res, rgb images, overprint/knockout issues, ink densities, size and content against the
PDF supplied and the new colour proof before forwarding the amended PDF to the printers,
we also used the TWIST workflow.
As a former Colour Planner I also have a very good knowledge and understanding of
imposition schemes, and experience of working at a large format Screen and Litho printers.
I am very flexible and would be willing to consider any position and salary that reflect my skills,
knowledge and experience, I am available with immediate effect.
