About me
My name is Joel Foster and I am a graduate from the London College of Communication in BA (Hons) Graphic Design. I am a print-based designer specialising in typography and have over two years industry experience. Since graduating, I have pursued both freelance and permanent roles.
I designed and created a fashion/ finance magazine for an MA student as her final piece, in which I was responsible for all the typography, art direction and layout. I have also gained industry experience by completing internships and freelance stints at Landor, ICA and Glock, where I designed and helped to finalise logos as well as typesetting several booklets and posters. I have created identities, brochures and flyers (some of which can be found on my website).
In 2009, I worked as design assistant at Quintessence Publishing where I was assistant to the head designer creating spreads, layouts and retouching images for the book, '1001 Beers You Must Try Before You Die'.
In 2010, I designed an entire book for a local historian entitled 'A History of New Southgate', which is now published and available in Waterstones and on Amazon.co.uk.
Last year I artworked a branding guideline booklet for Burn Snowboards and have just completed a complete rebrand/ Identity for a family-run tea room/ restaurant in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire which can also be seen in my portfolio.
I am well versed in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop & Illustrator.
I am passionate about design, typography, photography, art and architecture and never switch off, constantly craving influence and new ideas.
Many thanks,
Joel
