OUR FOUNDING STORY
Joe Public was established in 1998 by Gareth Leck and Pepe Marais. The then small, boutique Cape Town agency opened its doors to the public to offer them something completely new, Take-Away advertising.
This revolutionary model allowed hungry clients to order an ad off a menu with a price list, making Joe Public a transparent, unique creative diner, serving up some of the hottest creative ideas in Cape Town.
Already set for greatness, Joe Public won the Financial Mail’s Emerging Agency Award during its very first year of business and was nominated as one of South Africa’s most promising companies to watch in its second year.
