About me

I'm a recent Meng product design and manufacture at Nottingham University, and am now looking for a role in design engineering.

My interest in design and engineering extends to all fields and I have designed and made my own circuits, speakers, bike parts and computer. I have an excellent grasp of engineering and design principles, and extensive knowledge of Pro engineer software. My degree also involved writing technical reports, proof of concept prototypes and many manufacturing modules. I enjoy all aspects of design and engineering, I especially enjoy the challenge and thought process.

Before my degree I had 6 months work experience at DCA design international, a highly regarded design consultancy. I now work along side a design engineer and inventor with over 40 years experience in the flare stack industry, building a 34 foot steal hull sailing yacht. I have gained a great appreciation for all the practical implications of a design, from the construction and finishing process to the material choices. I am also learning to weld, which has given me a new appreciation for the fabrication process.

DCA Design International: Six months work experience as an assistant technician, my duties involved organising project files, and testing a medical device., PDG Product Creation: Two months work experience, working in concept design and assisting with prototyping., Boat Construction: An on-going project assisting a family friend with the construction of a 34 foot sailing boat. Here I not only learn directly in the construction process, but am also working alongside a very experienced engineer and inventor. I have an active role in the design and making, process.
