Dear Sir/Madam

I came across this position on Linkedin and thought I would be a good applicant for the job. I have graduated with a First Class Honours from Southampton Solent University and have been working ever since I left university, sometimes juggling more than one job at a time since at one point I was a barman, a camera operative at Boiler Room, and a production assistant and DJ on a local radio station. I have experience in many different kinds of video production, and also experience in all stages of it from pre-production to post, shooting and editing videos myself for clients. I am passionate, show a lot of enthusiasm and have always been asked back by clients and companies I have previously worked with.

I want to work in a post-production environment where I can increase my skills and learn about other sectors of post-production, as well as new software and technologies, to push my career in the right direction. I'm a very experienced and creative editor that can be seen on my Linkedin page and show-reel, which I have placed below, but I will go into further detail.

I have used most types of editing software before, my best being Adobe Premier and the rest of the Adobe creative suite, but I also have these programs on my own personal computer and have used them extensively in my own time. I have completed many projects for clients that involved not just editing, but the whole production process which I am very familiar with from planning, to shooting and then the final edits. Working with clients I can be very professional and confident, as well as reliable and working with them until the very end result is exactly what they envisioned through multiple edits. I have also led a team of editors before on my final major project "The Stag" on which I was a production manager and director and would direct them on how to edit action drama properly as well as making directors notes on each cut and fixing any problems myself. I have experience creating graphics for video and know how to use them effectively and informatively. As well as my editing skills I am very technical and computer literate, especially on Mac, and know most technical terms and problems, as well as the solutions. I am also used to logging, making crates, moving around footage through hard drives and exporting footage with correct codecs. I have my own transport and am incredibly used to out of hours or weekend work.
