Apparel Product Development & Production Manager - Sportswear Brand

We are looking for an experienced Apparel Product Development & Production Manager to take ownership of the development and production process for our premium sportswear brand, Shock Method.

Please read this carefully before applying.

This is NOT a logo design, graphic design or fashion design project.

Our branding, logos, garment mock-ups, print placements, colour palette and overall creative direction have already been developed. The vast majority of the creative work has been completed.

While we would certainly value someone with a design background--particularly someone who is comfortable working with vector artwork (Adobe Illustrator or similar), typography and minor artwork refinements--this is not the primary focus of the role.

There are only a handful of small adjustments remaining, such as refining certain logo elements, typography, spacing and ensuring all artwork is fully production-ready. We are not looking for a complete redesign of the brand.

Your role

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the project from its current stage through to the successful production of our garments.

The garments have already been purchased, and our overall vision is already established. What we now need is someone to take ownership of the process and bring everything together professionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing our existing branding, mock-ups and artwork.
  • Making minor adjustments to vector files and typography where required.
  • Ensuring all artwork is suitable for production.
  • Advising on the most appropriate premium printing methods for performance sportswear.
  • Researching and identifying suitable UK printing companies.
  • Contacting suppliers on our behalf.
  • Comparing quotations, production methods and quality.
  • Recommending the most suitable supplier.
  • Managing communication with printers and manufacturers.
  • Coordinating sampling and any necessary revisions.
  • Advising us when garments are ready to be sent.
  • Monitoring production timelines.
  • Providing regular progress updates and maintaining clear day-to-day communication throughout the project.
  • Helping ensure the entire process runs efficiently and on schedule.

Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the operational side of this project, allowing us to focus on growing the business while knowing the apparel development is progressing smoothly.

About the brand

Shock Method is a premium sports performance brand built around high-level coaching, athletic development and performance apparel.

Attention to detail is at the heart of everything we do, and we want our clothing to reflect the same standards that we expect from our coaching.

Ideal experience

We’re looking for someone with experience in areas such as:

  • Apparel product development
  • Sportswear production
  • Garment technology
  • Production management
  • Technical apparel design
  • Premium garment decoration
  • Supplier and manufacturer management
  • Vector artwork preparation for production

Experience working with performance sportswear or brands such as Nike, Adidas, Gymshark, Castore or similar would be highly advantageous.

What we’re looking for

We value someone who is:

  • Organised and highly proactive.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects.
  • Honest and transparent with recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to keep projects moving without constant supervision.
  • Interested in building a long-term working relationship rather than simply completing a single freelance task.

Future Opportunity

Please note that this initial project is intended as a paid trial to assess compatibility, communication and working style.

The initial scope is deliberately limited, as we’re looking to build a long-term working relationship with the right person rather than simply outsourcing a one-off task.

If the collaboration is successful and we build strong rapport and trust, there is significant potential for this to develop into a long-term position within the business.

As our brand grows alongside our investment plans, the successful candidate could become the Head of Product Development for Shock Method, working directly with our team and lead investor to oversee future apparel collections, product launches and the continued growth of the brand.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building brands, solving problems and taking ownership of projects--not someone who simply completes tasks and moves on.
