UX Researcher positions at Amazon typically focus on leading user research initiatives to inform product design decisions across various Amazon services and products. Key job responsibilities:
Lead user research initiatives to inform product design decisions

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define research questions
Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable insights
Present research results to stakeholders and leadership
Mentor junior researchers and contribute to research best practices
A day in the life:
As a UX Researcher, you'll start your morning reviewing research findings from recent usability studies and preparing insights for an upcoming stakeholder presentation. You'll collaborate closely with product managers and designers to align on research priorities.
Mid-morning, you'll facilitate a remote usability testing session with customers, observing how they interact with a new feature prototype. You'll take detailed notes, identify pain points, and capture moments of delight that will inform design iterations.
In the afternoon, reviewing their research plan and providing guidance on methodology selection.
Throughout the day, you'll write up how your insights drive customer-obsessed product decisions.
About the team:
Our UX Research team leads research for Alexa for shopping experiences globally spanning shopping AI Assistant and Alexa devices. We conduct best-in-class qualitative and quantitative research to understand how customers discover and purchase products through voice and conversational interfaces.
We operate as a close-knit team where collaboration and transparency drive our work. We share insights broadly and keep stakeholders informed throughout the research process, enabling faster, more informed decisions that improve customer experiences.
Our research directly influences product strategy and shapes how millions of customers shop with Alexa worldwide, making voice commerce more intuitive and delightful.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
- Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
- Experience (end to end) with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)
- Experience with lab-based user testing, remote testing, iterative prototype testing, survey design, and usage of multiple methods within a study
- Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Human Factors, HCDE, or Cognitive Psychology
- Knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistics
- Experience conducting and applying research in a global context
- Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment
