Key Responsibilities:
- Visual Design & Delivery: Craft visually compelling, pixel-perfect user interfaces that are both beautiful and highly usable, ensuring they meet accessibility standards and align with business goals.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to bring designs to life throughout the product lifecycle.
- Prototyping & Validation: Develop high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design ideas, run design reviews, and iterate based on feedback, research, and data insights.
- Design Systems & Standards: Use and contribute to the Firefly design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to established design principles.
- Accessibility & Inclusion: Advocate for inclusive design and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Culture & Growth: Promote a collaborative, positive and feedback-driven culture focused on continuous improvement, creativity and design excellence.
Core Competencies:
- Experience & Expertise: 5+ years of experience in visual/product design roles, working across multiple platforms and industries, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality digital products.
- Visual Design Expertise: Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design skills, including UI design, typography, colour theory, and layout across web, mobile, and other digital platforms.
- Design Craft & Execution: Ability to translate big ideas into visually compelling and user-friendly interfaces, making complex tasks intuitive and delightful.
- Prototyping & Collaboration: Skilled in creating high-fidelity prototypes and collaborating with researchers, product designers, and developers to refine and test designs.
- Brand & Identity: Deliver high-quality designs that reflect and evolve Civica’s brand, adapting to the changing needs of modern digital experiences.
- Design Systems: Experience using and contributing to design systems, ensuring design consistency and scalability across multiple platforms.
- Accessibility & Standards: Knowledge of accessibility principles and best practices, ensuring designs comply with WCAG and other relevant standards.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions clearly, collaborate effectively, and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Mentorship & Inspiration: Support and inspire other designers, promoting continuous improvement and raising the quality and impact of the team’s work.
- Tools & Technology: Proficient in design tools such as Figma, FigJam, and other relevant platforms and plug-ins for creating, presenting, and delivering high-quality design work.
