Location: Good Earth Design Studio, Delhi

Employment Type: Full-Time

ROLE & SCOPE OF WORK:

  • Responsible for conceptualising, illustrating, and developing original motifs, prints, and surface designs that express Good Earth’s design philosophy - rooted in India proud, contemporary yet timeless, inspired by heritage and nature.
  • This role requires close creative collaboration with the Creative Director & Design team, interpreting her vision into tangible artworks that become the visual language across textiles, home, paper, and lifestyle collections.
  • The scope includes artwork conceptualisation, motif development, digital print layouts, colour story creation, and design documentation for production. The Designer will ensure that every creation upholds Good Earth’s identity - where craft meets imagination, and beauty finds its place in everyday living.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create original motifs and surface artworks that tell visual stories aligned with Good Earth’s seasonal collections.
  • Translate the Creative Director & Design team's creative direction into prints, motifs, and design narratives across home and lifestyle categories.
  • Research and interpret heritage crafts, natural forms, and traditional art into refined, contemporary expressions.
  • Develop hand-drawn and digital artworks, maintaining harmony in line, composition, and colour.
  • Present moodboards, sketches, and artworks that communicate inspiration, story, and design intent.
  • Refine and finalise colourways, repeats, and layouts for sampling and production.
  • Collaborate with team to ensure authentic translation of designs across materials and processes.
  • Own the textile artwork development process end to end, including motif refinement, colourway development, repeat engineering, placement layouts, and scale finalisation for sampling and production.
  • Work closely with sampling units, printers, embroiderers, dyers, and production vendors to ensure accurate translation of design intent across techniques and fabric qualities.
  • Participate actively in vendor discussions, providing creative direction, resolving sampling challenges, and maintaining design integrity through multiple iterations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sourcing, production, and merchandising to ensure cohesive and authentic textile execution across collections.
  • Build and maintain an evolving archive of motifs, artworks, and inspirations for future storytelling.

THE IDEAL FIT:

  • Education in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline from a leading global design school (RISD, RCA, Parsons, Central Saint Martins, London School of Arts, etc.).
  • Strong in hand-drawing and digital rendering, with fluency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Collaborative, intuitive, and guided by a love for creating beauty that lasts.
  • Has a refined eye for colour, composition, and storytelling through motif.
  • Balances creativity with discipline - able to translate artistic vision into precise, production-ready design.
  • Approaches design with curiosity, patience, and emotional intelligence - seeing beauty in both form and process.
