Are you an apparel designer with a passion for creating exceptional clothing? Do you have a keen eye for design and the ability to bring standout collections to life? Come and join the Harry Potter design team!
We’re looking for a standout individual who is excited by creating original apparel ideas that go beyond the initial brief. You’ll be passionate about design, able to bring fresh thinking to your work, and enjoy building great relationships while collaborating as part of a team.
In this role, you’ll work across a variety of ranges, contributing at every stage of the design process through to production, while managing multiple projects at once.
The position is as much about mindset as it is experience. Curiosity and a genuine enthusiasm for designing high-quality ranges and working as part of a team are essential.
Your New Role...
- Designing and launching new apparel ranges in conjunction with the use of pre-designed style guides as well as self-developed lines
- Designing Harry Potter products that are specific not only to the UK Tour but across the Harry Potter landscape globally
- The chance to get involved in other areas of the business such as E-comm and in-store visual merchandising
- Working closely in conjunction with the buying and merchandising teams, bringing to life apparel requirements as well as managing creative concepts and ranges
- Support wear testing and consumer feedback loops, translating insights into actionable product improvements
- Actively bring to the table new apparel ideas and techniques based on trends in order to be first to market
- Develop and bring designs to life, balancing business requirements and technical constraints
- Drive technical fit and construction development, including fit blocks, grading guidance, and consistent fit standards
Qualifications & Experiences...
- A passion and proven ability to imagine, design and create fantastic apparel ranges
- Solid fashion design experience working in a retail environment on FMCG
- Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat with general knowledge using Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience presenting projects to all teams and senior stakeholders
- Interest in defining the design process, working alongside other disciplines like buying, merchandising, E-comm and visual merchandising
- A great sense of aesthetics and how to tell a story visually. An ability to make beautiful and clear artboards inclusive of all apparel requirements such as packaging and embellishments and how a garment is constructed
Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
How We Get Things Done…
This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
