We’re looking for a Technologist to join our Monsoon ladieswear department. This is a great opportunity for experienced technologists who are looking for a new challenge, passionate about fashion and delivering great product to the customer.

What will you do as a Garment Technologist:

  • Have an understanding of technical capability of suppliers, including factory visits and audits (including the developing of CAP’s)
  • Work with offices to ensure suppliers on boarded to ensure a smooth transition into the business
  • Manage issues to be taken up with suppliers, keeping buying teams and offices informed and develops supplier improvement plans
  • Follow up on ethical non- compliances from SMETA report, during factory visits and carry out ethical risk assessment, based on H & S issues
  • Work with category team to deliver product strategy
  • Ensure adherence to the required sealing process from initial prototype to production sign off (including critical path adherence and management) Drive improvements where required
  • Work with design/buying teams during product development to get as many samples ‘right first time’ as possible
  • Risk Assess products to ensure product feasible, safe and legal products
  • Work with suppliers to achieve the most cost effective production methods to deliver the required quality standards
  • Ensure all products are effectively managed through the appropriate testing and care /safety labelling requirements including the management of new fabrics/ components
  • Understand block / size requirements on relevant category and ensure they are consistently applied across all products (clothing)
  • Actively adopts a Quality Assurance approach to all areas of role
  • Driving product forward in terms of fit, construction and technical performance in order to meet customer expectations
  • Carry out overseas travel as required to develop supply base and product

What will you need to succeed as our Garment Technologist:

  • Proven experience as an  Established Garment Technologist level, with at least 5yrs experience operating at this level in a fast paced environment 
  • Proven experience of product; womenswear and accessories. Childernswear also appliable but not essential
  • Experience with use the of PLM digital software system or similar
  • Team player than can confidently self-manage and build strong  internal and external relationships with buyers, designer and our sourcing patterners ensuring commercial requirements are met to a high standard.
  • Degree educated or equivalent in recognised textile qualification
  • Passionate about Monsoon Accessorize product and getting the right quality product in stores for customers
