The Team: This role sits within the Times Media CRM team, part of the wider Times Media Customer Team.. Whilst physical newspapers are still a key part of our business, driving digital subscriptions and audiences will be the key to future success. The customer is at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to creating long term loyal customers through driving engagement, improving customer experience and creating enhanced products that meet our customers evolving needs.
As Email Designer/Developer, you will be solely managing the ideation, design and continual improvement of our marketing, triggered and lifecycle email communications. In this role, you will be using your creative skills to design emails that are commercially successful, responsive, on-brand, and consistent. The role will also be working alongside the CRM, Marketing, Editorial, and Creative departments to ensure a unified approach to providing an engaging brand experience for the customer.
Your Role:

Be able to gather and work with insights through competitor analysis, email performance and user testing to inform our email creative and design
-
Have a good understanding of email client constraints, browsers, and accessibility guidelines
-
Follow industry best practice guidelines, keep on top of the latest trends and make sure all templates and designs are responsive and maximised for mobile platforms
-
Design and develop our email templates that are engaging and on brand
-
Have good time management skills, as you’ll work on various email projects for multiple stakeholders simultaneously

Monitor and analyse email campaign metrics, including open rates, click-through rates and conversions to optimise future campaigns
-
Support the Email Developer as and when needed to build email campaigns
-
Work with CRM Managers to identify creative A/B testing opportunities

Email Marketing experience is essential

Highly skilled in HTML/CSS coding with a minimum of one years’ experience
-
Ability to troubleshoot rendering issues
-
Have a passion for design and be up to date with the latest trends
-
Open to feedback and critique - you should be curious and excited to improve

Comfortable presenting designs to stakeholders and taking live feedback

Experience working with web-based apps like Figma and Miro
-
Email Marketing Platform (ESP) experience such as Adobe
-
Experience of personalisation tools such as Moveable Ink (desirable)
