Homes & Gardens is the embodiment of ‘good design, in practice’, bridging the gap between the consumer space and the professional interior and garden design communities. We set ourselves apart by ensuring all our content delivers informative advice and expert insight. Accessible aspiration is at the heart of what we deliver.

If you’re obsessed with social media and looking to join one of the world’s fastest-growing lifestyle media brands, we want to hear from you. Homes & Gardens is a global authority in design and decoration, and you’d be part of a team responsible for transforming its presence on all social platforms. The content that you create and publish will be a critical string in the brand’s bow.

What you'll be doing…

As Assistant Social Media Editor, you'll be a brilliant team player, master multitasker and an innovative thinker who continuously looks for ways to optimise growth and engagement. You'll be well-versed in social tactics and ready to translate your insights into activations that capture our audience and drive referrals. You'll create social-first content across a variety of platforms and ensure that it meets brand guidelines and delivers commercial opportunities. You'll also work to maximise the potential of every single story we tell online using social media.

You'll support the Social Media Editor as a content creator, working in a smart and efficient way to find the maximum potential across different channels, strategically, innovatively and organically find follower, engagement and referrals growth via impeccable social calendar planning, pitch-perfect execution and close collaboration with the editorial team and create, image source, schedule and publish social posts for daily content across different social channels in tandem with the Social Media Editor (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Flipboard) keeping core KPIs in mind, in an organised, performance-driven fashion.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

  • A proven background in social media, and experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills; an ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Visual and photographic skills to create your own assets for social channels, such as low-lift video or self-shot content. Familiar with basic video editing.
  • Experienced in publishing, scheduling and analytics tools, as well as confidence in interpreting and explaining data.
  • An interest in the design and interiors sector, understanding what makes an on-brand image and knowing what makes a fantastic story for the audience.
  • Solid understanding of the key different social media platforms and their nuances, best practices and latest developments.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and provide self-guidance.
  • A team player, with a resourceful can-do attitude, who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. A great communicator and presenter – both with the industry and the wider Future team.

What's in it for you…

We have a number of awesome perks available to our staff. We offer huge opportunities to learn and develop, whether through professional qualifications, exposure to incredible business projects or informal lunch & learns, hosted by your colleagues. We have a fantastic culture where we really do care about our people and want everyone to succeed. Varied roles mean you’re not pigeonholed in to one finite area but get the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and experience

And to top it all off, not only do we offer unlimited holiday because we trust you to manage your workload and time but we also offer a share in our success whereby every colleague is eligible to join our profit pool bonus scheme - if Future hits their performance targets all colleagues may receive a bonus.

This is a Hybrid role from our London Paddington Office, working three days from the office, two from home.
