About me

I have recently relocated from Sydney to London and I am keen to start working as soon as possible. I have worked in Publishing (Murdoch Books Australia) for the last few years, so have great conceptual, prepress and long-document layout skills. As well as working as an in-house Designer I was the Design Co-ordinator at Murdoch Books so have good organisational and scheduling skills, and work quickly and efficiently through projects. I'm also very computer literate and learn quickly.

The experience of working on a wide variety of titles at Murdoch Books pushed me to develop my conceptual, technical and typographic design skills. In particular, designing two of our major authors' Christmas titles allowed me to quickly gain proficiency at designing within tight timelines with high expectations of an excellent outcome. While working at Murdoch Books I also developed very strong production skills, completing a wide range of pre-press tasks and building a solid knowledge of printing materials and printing techniques.

I am a highly organised person who multitasks well. In my role as Design Coordinator, I provided a high level of practical support to the design team, coordinated freelance teams and managed studio workflows.

I have very strong computing skills with excellent skills in InDesign and Quark, as well as very good skills in Illustrator and Photoshop. I also have extensive knowledge of Acrobat Professional and the Microsoft Office applications.
