Dear Sir or Madam,

As a Journalism graduate I am currently seeking a challenging, freelance position to expand my current skill set. My previous experience has meant that I have a passion for both print and new media, alongside digital marketing and communications, and your freelance copywriters position sounds like an ideal opportunity to expand my skill set even further and take on a new challenge.

My previous experience in Marketing and Communications has not only helped me to develop my practical and technical skills, but also helped encourage my sense of demographic profile, writing and production. My current position at LBi has meant that I am accustomed to working in a busy and tense environment under deadline, with my key responsibilities being the production of high quality client content, press releases, social media production and multi-signal search distribution. Whist ensuring interest-rich, quality media content is designed to attract specific audiences and improve online visibility and link-ability.

I have worked in several media organisations throughout Scotland working on the development of digital and social media including writing online content, encouraging multimedia, liaising with clients and web agencies in order to provide the best service for affiliates and the best marketing strategy for the company. My experience in newsrooms such as STV and GMTV news has meant that my knowledge of the press is vast; fast paced and has helped me learn to share ideas and love working in a team environment. I have acquired strong broadcasting capabilities in terms of editing equipment and all recording apparatus and have 6 months of shorthand training.

Working in such a client focused environment, has meant that attention to detail is imperative. I write and re-work content for high profile, globally recognised clients like British Airways, Royal Bank of Scotland and Alexander McQueen, and representing such brands means being meticulous when it comes to detail. This means right from the beginning, ensuring your research is perfectly conducted and searchable, whilst adhering the house style preferred by each client. This kind of fresh writing technique and eye for detail is something I feel I could bring to your team.
