About me
I have recently graduated from Central St Martins with a BA Hons in textile design. I specialised in print design creating textiles to be worn on the body. Throughout the course of my degree I have become more interested in working in the sports/performance-wear industry and tailored my final degree show project toward a cycle-wear context.
Throughout my final year I have been exploring varying techniques including screen printing, digital printing, and bonded different fabrics using vinyl. Coming from a family of competitive athletes, I was visually inspired by the nostalgic elements of cycling as well as the idea of the sport being passed down through generations. It was important to create functional products with a high level of performance alongside the design and concept. I drew upon research into existing cycle-wear brands using stretch fabrics for ease of movement, reflective elements for safety on the road and mesh panelling for breathability.
I am currently working full time in the Asics Flagship store which has allowed me to learn a-lot about performance wear however it is something I am keen to expand my knowledge on. Looking ahead an ideal career for me would be something that embodies my love for design and creativity, with my adventurous nature. I have a passion for colour and working with graphics and print for textiles is my expertise, however, I'm also eager to learn much more about material development for performance-wear.
