About me

I recently completed my qualification in graphic design at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth (PE), South Africa. I currently live in London, having relocated here at the end of 2010.

I obtained a BA degree (Cum Laude) in Media, Communications and Culture in 2008. During this course I completed a variety of modules ranging from advertising, design to creative writing and new media. Having loved art from an early age, I identified with the combination of problem solving and creativity that the graphic design field entails. After completing my BA degree in media, I entered the Graphic Design course offered at NMMU. I excelled and found that the media knowledge I had gained through my BA degree resulted in my becoming a well rounded graphic designer, passing my course cum laude at the end of 2010.

I have gained valuable experience through various freelance jobs I undertook while studying. These ranged from developing concepts and designs for output such as letterheads and restaurant menus to a website for a professional artist. Other projects that held my interest included volunteer work in the form of design for local non-profit organisations, including promotional material for the South African Marine Rehabilitation and Education Centre (SAMREC) and exhibition posters for the Eastern Province Society of Arts and Crafts (EPSAC).
