Dear Management Team,

I saw your job listing on the web and I am delighted to apply for the opening for a Graphic Designer, as I believe my skills and experience are close to your description/ needs. I have 4 years combined experience with graphic design as a student, intern, employee and freelancer.

I most recently completed studying in London for a Master of Arts degree in Graphic Design at the London Metropolitan University in September 2011. And currently I have worked for LINE communications in the past 6 months as a contract graphic designer, as well as a freelance designer for Middlesex Corporation. At LINE, I worked on projects such as information graphics for BP to use for their internal employee training. Before studying in London I completed two internships as a graphic designer, in the US, where I was in charge of all creative decisions for both web and print material. As an Intern, at United Planet, I advocated to redesign their website and was given full creative responsibility for the design with some direction from the Marketing Coordinator. At The Middlesex Corporation, I was again responsible for all creative decisions under the supervision of the marketing director.

The experience I have gained from my Master's programme, both internships and work at LINE has strengthened my communication skills and given me the confidence to express my creative ideas and take on leadership roles. As a designer I enjoy learning new techniques such as letterpress, screen printing, calligraphy and flash, and I am always pushing myself to create new and innovative outcomes with my processes.
