About me

I have recently completed a BA (Hons) in Magazine publishing at the London College of Communication and I would love the opportunity to begin my career in your company. My degree and work experiences have taught me how to bring ideas to life on time and under budget. I believe you would be able to make good use of my skills and I would add value to your team.

Over the last three years I have completed a number of projects where design has been a key element. I am fully literate in Adobe Creative Suite and my main strengths are in Photoshop and InDesign.

I have also developed knowledge and experience of key business aspects of magazine publishing such as finance, advertising sales, marketing, editorial strategy and the plans you need to make to launch a new title. This has given me a broad understanding of how magazines structure themselves in order to appeal to their target demographic. As part of the course we had to produce a magazine (Claptrap link below) and I was appointed as designer. This involved creating designs for the media packs, commissioning briefs and all the creative and art direction for the magazine - this included photo shoot ideas and page layouts.

For my final year project I completed a dissertation and a magazine artefact which explored the notion of trying to bridge the gap between digital and print via the use of QR codes (Quick Response codes). I incorporated this into my design work for the artefact so that readers with smart phones are able to access extra content by scanning the pixilated bar code.

I'm very much involved in and passionate about design and magazines where I'm constantly trying to participate in and find out about new design ventures. I currently seeking full-time employment in a position in a position I can grow and further my already founded skills.
