About me

A background in Theatre Design has enabled me to explore the drama of working with space, colour and texture, I have a deep-rooted passion for Interior design and particularly enjoy manipulating these elements to affect people's perceptions of their surroundings and change the atmosphere of a space. I also understand the importance of detailed design and try to blend the use of contemporary as well as classic influences in my work. I love discovering new surfaces and furnishings and specifying them in my work.

I am currently employed at gDc events as an event designer, where I started out as an assistant but was quickly promoted to a more senior role of designer and manager for all our events. I have successfully managed all our designing and production, theming, styling, set building and on site management for nearly 3 years. I am now looking forward to working on more permanent and sustainable interior environments within the hospitality sector of Interior Design. However I do believe that my experience in designing spaces for events will assist me in understanding the requirements of the perfect bar or nightclub!

I graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2004 where I studied a BA in Theatre: Design for Performance with an upper second. Before I started my current employment I worked within the film, theatre and television industries in both the art and costume departments designing and creating props and costumes.

I have recently completed an Interior Design Diploma course at LCC with a distinction; the course has enabled me to build on my technical skills and will hopefully assist me in pursuing a successful career in commercial interiors.
