Dear Hiring team,
I am very interested in applying for the Graduate Junior Designer position at Buffalozoomedia. As a recent graduate from Brunel University, I believe I have some skills and project experience I can contribute as part of the team, and I am also highly motivated to develop and learn a lot during the role.
My background is product design, but many projects have strong graphics and brand integrated skills. Examples include packaging projects with illustrations, menus and instructions, and as a group we also did a brand product concept for Graze. We researched and understood the brand's essence, before creating guidelines and translating it into a physical form synonymous with the brand. I also have a year-long personal project, Glimpse ice cream, where I developed a personality and language to inspire through experimental packaging concepts, menus and even the interior and language.
I have internship experience from the agency Freeform London, where I quickly conceptualised and rendered initial packaging concepts for movies and games of various brands, ready in time for client pitches. I also assisted creative marketing team with tasks such as retouching, occasional artwork and mood board research, consistent with their own work and brand guidelines. I found this kind of work interesting, and I aspire to gain more experience directly and expand my knowledge and develop my skills substantially.
