About me

I am writing to you regarding the vacancy for Junior Interior Designer. In June 2007 I completed a degree in Interior Design, since then I have worked for a small company based in Chelmsford, Essex who specialise in Residential Projects. Unfortunately I have been made redundant. I have always had a great interest in Commercial and Leisure design and am using this opportunity to pursue my career within this area of the industry.

Over the duration of the degree course I became proficient in Photoshop, Vectorworks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. I have an understanding of 3D Studios, Illustrator and Quark which I aim to constantly gain a better knowledge of. Although computers are a big part of Design I am capable of sketching, technical drawing, concept ideas, and site surveying.

From the course I was able to take my skills with me to my current job and develop them further and gain an understanding of working in the industry. I enjoy working as a team, and can offer skills of communication, time keeping, responsibility and problem solving.

From concept, I enjoy gaining an understanding of the space and working on layouts, to completion and creating the graphical presentation which communicates the final product.

As part of the Degree course I took part in fundraising for myself and my colleagues to exhibit at New Designers 2007 and our own college Design Show.
